The white abalone is an endangered marine snail native to the California coast. Learn how art and science combine to teach us about their habitat, the threats they face, and the ongoing restoration efforts to protect this species.
Marine Scientist and Photographer Oriana Poindexter will share her up-close-and-personal images, which build an unexpected empathetic connection between the viewer and this elusive creature.
Melissa Neuman, Endangered Species Recovery Coordinator for NOAA, will share updates on the efforts to bring white abalone back from the brink of extinction.
